Constant Low grade fevers

For the past couple of months I have had a fever between 99.5 and 100.6 I have them everyday, they are documented in all my doctor appts but nothing has been done. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, what do you do to treat it?

with your temperature between 99.5 and 100.6 do you feel feverish? or do you feel relatively normal? (as normal as we can get!)

i know that some peoples core temperature varies from what is considered normal. every time the doctor takes my temperature im about 96.7 - i seem to always have a lower temperature. so when it is around 99.5 i definitely have a fever. it does seem a little high for it to be your body's core temperature, but it could be possible..

have you asked your doctor about the high temperature? has he said whether or not they're concerned? they don't seem to be.. but it doesn't hurt to ask.

try drinking a lot of fluids, when you do have a fever they say to drink lots so you can pee it out! is there anything you've been trying now to reduce your temp?

There are some people on here who have been having long term, low grade fevers with doctors not knowing the exact cause. I do have a new book that says CD patients can have low grade fevers as part of the disease process, but I think it's important to address this with your GI and ask if he thinks anything is going on (like infection, abscess, etc) and is he going to investigate it.

I am in a flare and I have about a degree of fever. Mostly I notice it at night, I'm having bad night sweats, but sometimes it's during the day too.

I went through a period of time where I was having fevers every day or sometimes every other day for no reason I could think of. My doctors couldn't figure it out either. Then the fevers went away. No idea what happened. Usually a fever is an indication of infection or inflammation. As Heavly mentioned, everyone's core temperature is different. A few degrees above your "normal" temperature does not necessarily mean a fever; especially if you don't feel feverish. A lot of people with IBD have low grade fevers.

I have fevers most nights. I wake up in a cold sweat with my jammies soaked and shivering uncontrollably. I'm sweating yet cold. Just as you, my symptoms are documented but my doc doesn't seem really concerned. Sorry couldn't be of any help, but i can commiserate!

I had low-grade fevers before my abscess was cut open for draining. Even after the fistula was allowed to drain, I would still get fevers when the flare was really bad. Night sweats did not seem connected to a raised temp, in fact, each time I'd wake drenched and take my temp it was always really low! But, when I am flaring badly, I go through 3-4 shirts per night!

my average core temp is 97.7 so when I hit 99 or more I know I have a fever. I dont feel sick or anything, I feel a little feverish mostly at night time. I bring it up in every doctor appt which is about 2x a month. But they always stare at me like a deer in headlights and can never give me an answer. My questions have been side stepped a couple times I think in the hopes that I will just forget about it and leave. All my blood tests and UA's are coming back normal. I get the I dont know why your having fevers but I dont really want to spend my valuable time trying to figure it out. Eat some bread

(eat some bread was what my mom used to tell me growing up, oh you have a cold? eat some bread. Oh you broke you tailbone? eat some bread. Oh you broke your arm? eat some bread,) hand to god she still tells me that. Oh you have strep throat? have you eaten any bread?

A fever, as noted above, is a sign of infection or inflammation. Absent an elevated white blood count which would indicate infection, the best answer is inflammation -- and Crohn's is an inflammatory bowel disease. Flares produce low grade fevers in many Crohn's patients. I suspect that is the most likely answer here.
