Lower Back Pain/ eyes burning and not being able to sleep

I was diagnosed with CD on March 2007. My life has been up and down, have taken a few meds and decided to take a brake from them once I felt better. I recently got back on Lialda and that is all I am taking for the meantime per my doctor's instructions. It's been about 3 weeks or so since I have been experiencing lower back pain on the right side . At times I wake up like a have been beaten with a stick. I also workout at least 3 times a week and weight trained so I thought it was the working out that was causing me pain. I stopped going to the gym last week and decided to monitor any other symptoms I face.

My eyes are also burning that I have to wear my glasses more often. Lately before I go to bed my stomach is starting to act up and causes me pain, I feel burning sensations, that of when you are starving. I have been eating good and safe food like always going to a Health Food store during my lunch hour and take multivitamins. The funny part is I have had no flares for a while, maybe running to the bathroom 2 or 3 which is good to me. Has anyone had any of these symptoms like the back and shoulder pain. I am unable to sleep most of the night and wake up to switch and turn on my back side, but not my stomach. I even recently purchased a brand new mattress because I thought it was to hard and uncomfortable for me. Now it's a brand new bed and I still feel tired in the morning.

I am tired of been sick and tired of dealing with CD.

The burning in your eyes may be because they are dry. Dry eyes are quite common in people with chronic inflammatory diseases like Crohn's. But at least that (the dry eyes) is a problem that can be treated quite effectively. There are a lot of different drops and gels that you could use, and it is well worth a trip to an ophthalmologist to get a diagnosis and suggestions for products to try (also to rule out more serious problems like corneal abrasions). Wish I had a magical solution for the rest of the Crohn's stuff, but I bet your eyes could be feeling a lot better very quickly with the right treatment.

I just made a call to my Gastro and left message with the assistant with all my symptons back pain, stomach churning and eyes burning. When he calls me back he'll probably want me to come back and see him. I hope he can refer me to another doctor for my other symptons, or maybe he'll give me more meds...I'm afraid of too many meds because I am trying to have a baby someday and worry about any side effects even though he has assured me that everything he gives me is safe. I hope I do get to enjoy my bed someday. I was reading about arthralgia and it stated feeling warmth, I remember waking up and feeling real hot and bother, not sweaty and my husband is sleeping next to me all covered up, there are times when he has told me, you feel really warm at times, but I never think anything of it, just that is better to be warm specially now that it's winter in NY.
