Imodium good or bad?

I know some of you are familiar that I am just taking Pentasa, and it is not working I am also taking Imodium and it seems to help me out for a couple of days and than it starts back up, seeing as you guys suffer from Crohn's is it good to take Imodium or should I stay away from it?

If it doesn't constipate you and you don't have strictures or anything you should be fine. I have had two GI's tell me it was fine to take as needed. Take it as directed though. I know the fear is of toxic mega colon but i have never had an issue.

My GI has me going for a ct scan this Monday she thinks I may have a stricture, however I went for a ct scan about a month and a half ago and they told me it was nothing.  I am afraid that they will tell me it is nothing and just brush me off.  But thanks for the suggeston with imodium, it just sucks that she told me not to take it as it is a hugehelp to me.

You may want to take your physician's advice until you have had the CT Scan. Things can change in your body even if it was only 6 weeks ago. :)

My GI has okay'd me taking it. My Crohn's is pretty mild right now though. No strictures or sever flares going on. I don't worry about Toxic Mega Colon. But would talk to my doctor if my symptoms change. It helps me get through some bad days that I have (I also have bile salt diarrhea, and take Questran for it. So it can be hard to tell what I'm getting D from). I have to have some quality in my life, on bad days it lets me function.

But for sure talk to you doctor about it. Were all so different and can't do everything the same!
