I have never had trouble getting B12 vials - whether I was on once a week injections or once a month. I just changed insurance companies, however, and the new insurance company doesn't cover it....BUT...it was only $10 for four vials, so who cares if they don't cover it. Not sure why your pharmacist would be objecting to a doctor's script
. It's not unusual for people to get weekly B12 injections with Crohns.
Perhaps the script was written for a 3 month supply (like a mail order script)? Pharmacies typically will only fill a script for 1 month at a time. But even then, I've never had trouble...the pharmacy just fills one month's worth and then I have refills. They're usually smart enough to figure that out....maybe you should change pharmacies.
