Hello everyone. I am new here and having CD since may 2007. I live in Croatia and pepole here know a little about CD. I drink corticosteroides since may , so can someone please tell me how long patients ussually need to take it. Thank youVIEW IMAGE

Welcome to the forum!   I've never drank cortisicoids - they've always been in pill form for me.  How long I take it depends on how long a flare up is...sometimes it's only for 6 days, sometimes it's 3 months, sometimes it's been 6 months.   Everyone's different.  I think some people here on the forum have been taking steriods for years.   It just depends....

welcome. I don't know about drinking them either. what is the dosage? how are you feeling?

Hello! I staerted to drink corticosteroids(Medrol) with 60 mg first time when I was in hostopital and every 10 days I need to decrease dose for 4 mg .When I came to 4 mg I drank it still 2 months and stopped to drink it with doctor sugesstion. All that time when I drank them I was feeling very well, but I didn`t drink them 5 days and  must go in hospital again(I have temperature, pains...). I came home from hospital before 6 days and now I`m drinking  Medrol 24 mg and felling good.         P. S. Sorry if my english is not correct, I hope that you will understand  what I wrote.

Welcome Cekmi! Sorry to hear about your CD problems, we can all relate here so I'm glad you found our forum. I am glad to hear that drinkiing the Medrol is helping you feel better. I have never had liquid form of steroids, always had pill form. I take Entocort and it is the only medication that helps with the pain and inflammation. You should ask your Dr. about the possability of trying Entocort, it may help you a lot. Please take care and let us know how you are doing!
