Gum Disease??

Anyone else here deal with sensitive or bleeding gums? I've always been in good dental health, but I recently developed bleeding gums. My dentist mentioned that, aside from plaque build up, it could be caused in part by Crohn's. I get such conflicting info from all my doctors (my GI says my rashes/legions are caused by Crohn's while my Dermatologist denies that, etc) I just wanted to see if anyone here had had a similar problem? At this point I imagine it has something to do with my weakened immune system on the remicade.

Yeah Crohns has done a number on my gums AND my teeth. I think part of it is the disease and part because of our meds.

In the past year or so I've developed minor gum disease. My gums are very sensitive, injure easily, and stay mildly inflammed looking. My periodontist says that they're Crohn's-related. A combo of immune system dysfunction and meds.

thank you so much! You are all very helpful as usual. It's just nice to know you're not alone, you know. Going to talk to my dentist tomorrow and see if anything can be done to help--I'm already on a prescription rinse but it's just getting worse.
