Bitbit,
My story is pretty much exactly the same as upt0106's --the pain began with a bit of swelling on one bum cheek, the swelling and PAIN got much worse over 2-3 weeks, until I literally could not sit down at all (and the side of my bum was swollen Very much).
I went to a colorectal surgeon (since I could not sit from the pain, I had to ride there in the back seat of my car kneeling down on all fours--not a high point in my life with Crohn's). The surgeon knew I had an abscess (an infection in a fistula--common with Crohn's) that needed to be drained. So, he made a small incision (didn't hurt a bit, they numb you) and drained the pus--disgusting, I know--and I felt MUCH better. He had cut a chunk of skin out about the size of a dime, so I had kind of a "hole" where it was drained, but it healed up in a few weeks, and now I just have a small scar.
If the pain and swelling continues, please take yourself to a colorectal surgeon, or the emergency room. Don't wait and let it get really bad, like I did--it just makes you more miserable!
Good luck!
