Firstly merry xmas to one and all!!

Well went up to hospital friday and saturday to get bloods and metho ended up waiting for hours so i still have not got my bloods and metho!this seems to be happening to me a lot recently ill phone the ward and ask them if my metho is up either its not up or its not in the fridge then they turn round up say its not up when infact it is this is really getting me stressed out now also because i cant manage the same day for my metho they say i am messing them around i really dont know which way to turn now its getting to the stage i really dont want to go to hospital i appreciate the gastro ward is a really busy ward but it does not seem to matter which time you go up there its always busy!.

i have now called my gastro consultants secretary to see if i can bring my appointment forward instead of march is there anyone else in the same situation i cant get my metho done at the doctors so god knows what else i can do the only thing i can do is go back to oral and give it a try i really cant tolerate that ward anymore and the waiting around.

when i had my appointment in november i discussed all this with the doctor i saw her reply was ill see if i can get your bloods and metho done in another ward im still waiting on that call so for now im not going up to the hospital again until i discuss this with my consultant.

I agree that this really sucks. I can't believe for maintenence stuff they are still triaging you and making you wait. But, in the meantime you still need to get your medicine. I am trying to understand your post and it sounds like you got so upset waiting that you left. Is this why the hospital is upset? Because you didn't stay? While they are trying to get to the bottom of it you should do what I do when I fly (or have to be in any other situation that you hate). Make a fun pack. And yes, I am 26 not 12 and this still works. Get together a bunch of stuff that you like but are guilty pleasures so you never really buy them. For me that would be trashy celebrity gossip magazines, cosmo magazine... I like to crochet but never have time for it during school, so I bring yarn and a hook, I bring my journal that I NEVER have time to write in, I bring thank you notes and write all the ones that have been piling up.) Bring stuff that you will actually look forward to doing and that will last you hours. That way rather than sitting there waiting for the doc to call your name you will be happily occupied. I had to bring my husband to the doctors last semester and I brought my laptop and worked on an outline for a final exam. When he was all done I said "give me 10 more minutes, I need to finish this chapter." The people in the waiting room looked at me like I was nuts, wanting to stay there longer, but I was getting so much accomplished I didn't want to leave. Now the key for this to work is you can ONLY use the stuff in your fun kit when you are at the hospital so that it has all that new appeal.

fitz ive tried it all been there done that books magazines theres not once ive been up to hospital had my treatment and been able to leave theres always a complication if not with my notes the treatment in itself but i dont see why i should be penalised because i cant always manage a friday to get my metho done im left stitting like a tube for hours my 1st treatment took 5 hours and that was just to come from the pharmacy up to the ward i just cant do this anymore im going nuts and the depressions starting to affect me really badly now i dread going up there now the best xmas present i could ever wish for is if i never saw another hospital ward as long as  i live lol.

hmmmm my new years resolution ill think about that one lol
