Is orange jello ok before colonoscopy?

Instructions say no red or purple but there has to be red dye in orange jello,right?

Also, my instructions say no food 24 hours prior. My procedure is tomorrow at 11:45. Can I eat breakfast this morning?

It's been so long, I forgot!

The usual instructions are for no food at all the day before the procedure. To be safe I would avoid breakfast. I would also avoid any dyes at all in Jello -- lime or lemon maybe.

I have another colonoscopy scheduled for next week. Nurse said only clear liquids day before procedure so I don't think that orange jello is allowable, sorry. Good luck!

Well, red and yellow make orange, right?   :)  Unless it said red dye on the box, it would be ok.  I never had to be on clear liquids the day before, just liquids.   I used gatorade to mix with the crap you have to drink.

TOTALLY!  Jello is the best way to go before cleanout.  orange, red, yellow...any color!

colonoscopies are not fun at all.  I've had about 10 colonoscopies and endoscopies in the past seven years.  I'm sorry... but, if this is your first, don't expect it to be bad.  They will just totally knock you out.  And if you don't like needles (which would be hard having CD and all) ask if they can gas you. NO PAIN!

My directions always said no red or purple, pressumably, as someone else pointed out, red is involved in the dyes. Remember, better safe than sorry. They tell you to not eat anything this color because it can look like blood when they do the scope!

I always eat orange jello before my scopes,as a matter of fact,I'm having one on Wednesday,so tomorrow I will be eating yummy orange jello!
