CONCERNED,CONFUSED and BAFFLED

I HAVE HAD CD FOR A LONG TIME NORMALLY ABLE TO GO INTO REMISSION, BUT THIS TIME NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK. I AM A 51 YR OLD MALE,FATHER OF 3 WHO HAS TAKEN ALOT OF
DIFFERENT MEDS BUT NOTHING SEEMS TO BE WORKING. ASACOL, REMICADE (WORKED FOR A WHILE,THEN HAD A REACTION), HUNIRA INJECTIONS,ENTOCORT, AND YES PREDNISONE .
MY SYMPTOMS ARE LOOSE WATERY MOVEMENTS, THROBBING IN RECTUM AREA, AND JUST TOTALLY WIPED. HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH CD,UC, ULCERATIVE PROCTITIS AND ILIETUS OVER MY LIFETIME
BUT AS I STATED NOTHING SEEMS TO BE WORKING THESE DAYS.

I AM CURRENTLY GOING TO A SPECIALIST IN GASTROENTEROLOGY AND I AM GETTING FRUSTRATED WITH HIM BECAUSE EVERYTHING HE HAS RECOMMENDED NOT HELPED.

ANY THOUGHT OR IDEAS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. :

Welll...I am sorry to hear that you have had a rough time with your disease. It is never fun when no medication seems to work and you continue to feel crummy. Have you and your doctor ever discussed options outside of medications such as surgery to remove the diseased portion of the intestine. This isn't a decision to make lightly, but definitely something to consider if nothing else has worked. Although a gastroenterologist is the doc to see for crohns and uc...check and see if anyone in your area specializes in IBD or has any additional interest in it...maybe they will have new or different ideas for your treatment. I hope you feel better soon.
