I've heard of Osiris Therapeutics, but I think only in relation to the Parochymal development and studies.
I've been very interested since it is stem cells. On the other hand, as w/embryonic & fetal stem cells I always wonder about the possibility of passing on unknown "hereditary defects" or even bacteria or viruses not currently recognized or there being a test for.
I keep hoping for more progess w/the skin stem cell research going on wherein they use our own skin so the only "stuff" we are gonna get in those stem cells is our own "stuff". But then who's to say that our own skin stem cells couldn't pass on an even bigger dose of whatever genes or defective genes or bacteria or virus contributed to our Crohn's disease to begin with??
Me and my suspicious, less than trusting, mind and thought processes!
Hey, if you've failed everything else - quality of life is important (at least to me!) so it seems like Parochymal or Tysabri are you two best choices. If I were in your shoes (thank God I am not! You have my sympathies) I would at least make an interview and ask LOTS and LOTS of questions and then make my decision.
Good luck and God bless!!! My heartfelt good wishes to you.
