Last week I posted about Jacksonville Jaguar QB having Crohn's and being on Remicade, including having surgery. Well, now you can read about it in SI.

Yep, and he and the Jaguars are playing my Pats today. This is gonna be a tough game for me. I want my Pats to win!!! But, I am always routing for David so I'm hoping that it is a low scoring game ending up w/a 1 point win by the Pats.

David is strong and stocky for a QB and to realize that he had a resection just a couple years ago and yet finished out last season as the QB and is first string QB this year and doing so great is a real thrill. And for his coach to cut his previous first string QB in favor of David really shows guts and confidence in David's ability.

I agree CrohnieToo, I am a diehard Pats fan and have been glued to my TV for years when they play, but its a little hard to route against a fellow CDer. BUT I will have to. I hope David has a great game, but the rest of his team is a little off and my beloved Pats play perfect football.

I'll be the one in the Vrabel shirt screaming her head off!

He had a resection, 3 years ago now?? And he was smart enough to go on medication immediately after surgery as "insurance". It sounds like it might be Remicade he's on and I gotta tell you, THAT take some GUTS, to opt to go on Remicade whilst in remission after surgery in the hopes of it maintaining a long remission!!!!

I don't think "money" gave him an advantage, but I do think that his public recognition and certainly his ambition and determination helped him convince his doctors to put him on "the big gun" after resection that most of us wouldn't have been able to do - or even want to do whilst in remission.

They just had a special on Garrard during the pre-game show and talked to him about Crohn's. I didn't hear all of it but then they switched to talking about his family and asked him if he "changed diapers" talking about his baby. For a minute I thought they were still talking about Crohn's. I thought Garrard might slip and laugh or something but he didn't. Seems like a great guy and good spokesman for those w/Crohn's. Hope he does well today. I won't be rooting against the Jags unless they end up playing the Cowboys.
