It's the day after my first remicade, I had a mild headache yesterday. Today I got up with bad joint pain and a really bad headache. It will be worth it I keep telling myself. I had to leave work early and come home and sleep. Just wanted to vent alittle......thanks

It will! Strangely enough, the same thing happened to me when I started Entocort. I couldn't believe that it could be caused by such a benign little thing as Entocort, but it was. I eventually adjusted to it, though, and the side effects are gone. I had bad headaches, the feeling like I had the "flu" (joint pain, muscle pain, etc.), and really bad fatigue.

It usually takes me at least 3 days to get over the headache and fatigue, I used to get joint pain also but the last few infusions went much better. I have to be honest and let you know for me personally sometimes it would knock me for a serious loop for up to a week, I call it my remicade hangover. But for me it is beyond worth it, remicade gave me back my life and got me into remission. I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me!!

i always do my treatment on friday that way i know i have at least the weekend to get over it and sometimes i still have to take off on monday too.I have noticed it helps if i take my pain pills and sit with my heating pad or take hot baths.

Should I ask for pain pills?.......always afraid to ask, my doc doesn't seem to like to give them

Hi I would recommened asking for pain meds. I have been on Remicade for over 2 years and I am doing fine with it I have no-side effects. I hope you have good results like I have from the Remicade

styxgurl---i wish you the best with remicade as you know we all are known as crohnies but
we are alittle different in small or large ways,what works for some may not work for others
its your body and your ''crohns disease'' listen to your body--check out your gi watch your
sugar count and see it you feel better with remicade or not??all med's have some side -effects
ask for pain meds which will more likely ultram--just keep watch over how you feel on remicade

I highly recommend getting Remicade on Friday if possible for the first 5 or 6 infusions.  I suffered for leg cramps and joint pain after the first infusions as well. Not to mention I would sleep for hours after them, then be up all night.  Usually by Monday I was getting back to normal.  For me, Remicade is a miracle drug and worth the first weeks of side effects.  Best of luck to you!
