Anyone using Humira and getting headaches more than usual. Starting taking it 9 weeks ago and it seems a couple times a week I get a headache now that lasts around 24 hrs. The whole day I feel like I have a hangover even though I have not had anything to drink.

Yep!! It seems that I get burning headaches a few times a week after the injection.

Really, that doesnt seem like something you wanna add to an already unpleasant problem. Headaches are something I dont like to go through and really makes the day even tougher some times to get through.
How many people out there get the headaches on Humira. I have been thinking about
switching from remicade as I have been on that a very long time and it doesnt seem to be working like it use to. Every 6 weeks another infusion..yippee.. Seriously though do a lot of people get that side effect or just something to shrug off.
Hope that goes away soon jack

I've had a headache every day (for varying lengths of timer during the day), since I did my loading dose of humira almost two weeks ago. Ibuprofen (at 800 mg) has brought pretty good relief from them. Hope this is one of those side effects that goes away with time.

I've been on humira a year now.The first four to six months I would have a slight headache within twentyfour hours after my injection. Now I don't have a problem with humira related headaches.
I'm just getting over a bad sinus infection. I had to back off one injection during this but now I'm back on schedule.
I had been on remicade for a few years till it wore out for me. I'm so thankful that about
that time humira became availablle. I still have the D but three to five times a day is normal for me. I have also gained weight. I am having to retrain myself on not eating all those carbs we crohnies crave.

Thanks, guess its not just me. Tylenol and HeadOn seem to just take the edge off, not make the headache go away, resorted to Excederin last week as had work to do, and of course that can make the crohns worse. Hopefully will get less over time. My headaches seem to come 4 or 5 days after injection and the next week just when I am feeling better and sets me back.

I have been on Humira nearing two years now. I have gotten migraines for most of my life. I have not noticed an increase in headaches or migraines at all with the Humira. Then again, maybe I am used to the migraines. I get them about
two or three times a month and they last from 3 to 6 days each. But, this is pretty much the same an before Humira.

I just had my first shots of Humira last wednesday, and had a slight headache for 2 days afterward, and a Migraine Saturday night. Waaa!
Hey, since we're on the topic, anyone know when this Humira will kick in? I'm new on this....
Thanks

Heya, Pampers : )
Humira.com says that you might start experiencing symptom improvement "in as little as four weeks". That's their official word. I've been cruising a bunch of crohn's sites, and the earliest I've seen anyone say they felt symptom improvement was at the two week point (which is right where I am right now. I haven't had any symptom improvement yet).
Yeah, I had the headaches for about
a week after my loading injections, as well as flu syndrome symptoms along with bad fatigue. My GI's MA suggested taking Benadryl for a few days after the loading doses. I took Benadryl and a few Ibuprofen. It really helped alot.

Hi CrohnsDaddy,
Thanks for the info!!! Benadryl sounds like a good idea...I'll try that. A simple solution like benadryl is rare thing for us, eh? a welcome change...
Good luck to you with your Humira, let me know how you do. :)
