I had to travel on a super long 2 days of flying for one meeting and dinner. I was in airports Tuesday from 5am to 2:30 pm to get to the little town we visited. When we went to dinner, the client picked a Mexican restaurant.....yipe, yipe, yipe.
Luckily, the restaurant had a huge menu inclduing lots of non-spicy stuff for me to eat. When they ordered guacamole for the table, I casually avoided it and the spice chips and salsa which I can NOT eat. One person finally pushed the guac toward me and said I should have some.
When "no thanks" & "please you have more" did not work, my wonderful boss jokingly said "Erin loves green so much, she won't eat anything green" and then made sure the conversation shifted to my story of my green wedding dress. It was a smooth move on her part and I was so grateful. She has a minor case of IBS she said so she can understand some of what I go through. I just didn't expect it from her.
Of course my guts are killing me from 2 10 hour airport days and little sleep, but my psyche is on a high from her saving me.
