The patient information booklet that I got from my pharmacist outlined all the side effects I'm experiencing yet the doctor thinks that those pamphlets are useless and misleading and then told me he didn't know why I was experiencing any of those side effects. SO frustrating!

Megera - and did he tell you that you have a bad attitude and that it's all in your head? That's a common doctor ploy. Grrr.

No thank goodness... I would have LOST it right there in the office. As it was I came home and cried to my mum on the phone then went to the pharmacy for my new Rx and cried to the pharmacist then went to work and almost cried there *sigh*

Hey, I think we've all had at least one appointment like that. I hope it reassures you to know you're not alone. Does it help to have people to cry with?

I was on 9mg of entocort since october, wow it was great i was feeling normal finally only gained 7 pounds....never had any problems on it at all.......the doc made me quit cold turkey..wow the migrains for a week and everything else...jeez.......if i could have i would have stayed on entocort for a lot longer it was really helping me alot...but the imuran is supposed to keep me at that feeling good stage so we will see......

megera -

Go visit with a pharmacist. Everything you are experiencing, the night sweats, sleep issues, etc., these are all side affects of that steriod. I went off it after a week on because it got to be too much for my family. I was a real pain in the @ss. devil (don't recommend anyone do the same)

Gut still hurts but at least I am no longer the antichrist!!

ivy6 - It's a tremendous relief to know that I'm not the only one going through this. Unfortunately though, my mum seems to have taken a hard stance with me. She knows how difficult Crohn's is to manage and how medications don't work all the time. She doesn't really have any sympathy for me when I get upset about medications and side effects - especially when the meds have pretty much stopped my flare. I know where she's coming from but some times I just want her to be a bit more sympathetic!


Texan with Crohn's - My pharmacist has been a big help :) She's fully aware of all the side effects I'm experiencing. I'm glad to know someone else has experienced the same thing.

You are most definitely not alone. :) I was worried that my flare up would worsen going off the steroid but it hasn't. Still in full flare up, but it hasn't gotten any worse. Still taking my Pentasa 2 pills, three times a day, along with nausea and pain meds to get me through the work day. But now at least I am no longer the antichrist and I am sleeping sooooo much better :-)

I'm starting Endocort tomorrow so thanks for all of the information. I've got active Crohn's again 15 years after my resection. I hope I can sleep through the night - as for the gas, couldn't be any worse than it already is. Fortunately, I work from home.....
