Can someone tell me why this is happening after colonoscopy?

A brief history: for the last year I have felt pretty darn good! no pain , no diarrhea ( suffer w/constipation) ...no real symptoms to speak of ..ofcourse every once in a while I was reminded by a sharp pain that the crohns did not just go away : (

Then ...I had a colonoscopy wednesday ..not good results : active crohns and 2 fistuals

Immediately following the test I had stomach pain ..that has not stopped - I can deal with that ...but I also started to discharge dark clotty blood both rectally and vaginally ( mostly vaginally ) which here it is saturday and it is not stopping ...

I am now having diarrhea with NO CONTROL ... I just feel plain sick

Why ? Why after the colonsocopy is this happening ? Why was I fine before despite the results of the test ...

I just dont understand it -

GI said to call and see him in 2 weeks to discuss plan

I called to make appt but couldnt get it for THREE weeks -

On friday (yesterday) I did call to say something was wrong and needed to speak to him...no return call ( I didnt' expect one really)

I do plan on calling on monday and insisting on talking to him ...I am at my sons baseball tournament and feeling so sick ...I am scheduled to fly home in 2 weeks ...so afraid of that trip now ...

No refund possible !

I just dont understand how or why the colonoscopy could have done this ! Anyone out there able to explain ???

On my last colonoscopy I felt bad for about 3-4 days and then everything settled down. i didn't continue to have the same problems as you tho. I think you are smart in getting forceful that the doc call you back. If you continue feeling bad this w/e don't hesitate to go to ER if needed. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Hope you feel better soon.

if it were a loved one of mine i would insist on speaking to the doctor on call and see what they say.

monday morning is a long time away when you aren't well.

i wouldn't hesitate to go to er if need be.

there could be several different things going on.  pleae get checked

Get on the phone and speak to the DOc on call. Hopefully, with a little luck, it might be your Doc. I agree that Monday is a long time to wait.

As far as an explanation, it might just be a matter of the prep having further irritated your already problematic gut. If that's the case, things should gradually begin to seetle down. The appearance of clotted blood is worrisone though as perforation is always a risk with a scope. Are you having any bleeding besdies the clotted blood? Is the D bloody too? When I had my bleeding, the D was bright red and it scared the daylights out of me.

Please be careful to keep yourself hydrated inthe meantime. It's amazing how quickly D can dry us out.

I can't say this strong enough, you must speak with a doctor, actually you MUST be seen by a doctor.  your symptoms are serious, not something that can wait.  no one should be bleeding from an orifice  (hole) that they weren't bleeding from before a procedure.  you know when you feel that something is wrong usually you're right, listen to your instincts.  hope all turns out well.

it sounds serious to me coz the blood is dark,wen ever i get bleeding they always ask if its bright red or dark.And always trust your insticts wen i had my surgery i knew that i shldnt b puking that much and all da nurses thought it was frm da sleeping stuff but i actually had a blockage.Nurses and Doctors arent always right.

On your release form from the hospital, it would have told you to return to that facility if any of those symptoms you are describing
occur. I would take yourself back ASAP....

Personally, I wouldn't wait to speak to a doctor, I would go to emerg. Hopefully it's nothing but I really think that you need to have someone look into it, soon. The worst they can say to you is that it is just nothing. Good luck. Hope things get looked into soon.
