nono  Yep here i go again seems like i'm always getting tendonits. I had tendonitis in my left elbow hurt me for a year it's better now, but now i have developed it in my right rotor cuff and man is it ever painful. So whats a girl to do, anyone else having problems with tendonitis? Take care,

Hi,

I have that same problem. I have tendonitis in my rotator cuff. Does it ever hurt, especially at night. I have had the Cortisone shots in it. The Physical Therapist I am seeing for another problem, said they can do physical therapy for that also. I have inflammed tendons in my foot and have to wear an orthopedic boot for at least 3 weeks and am doing PT for that too. Take Care. Julie

Kay, have they checked you out for any of the spondyloarthropic diseases? Tendinitis is a common symptom in those diseases.

Kay I've had bouts of tendonitis since I was a teenager and long before I was every diagnosed with Crohns. I was also born with a dislocated (not fully developed at birth) hip. I also get a lot of ganglion cysts. I am very flexible and the docs always said that it plays some role in the tendon issues. I don't respond to anti-inflammatory drugs, cortisone shots or physical therapy so my tendonitis has usually resulted in surgical correction. Now for the past year and a half or so I have been suffering from muscle cramps/spasms in my back, lower legs and feet that can't be explained. I've seen the Rheumy and orthro docs and they don't know what to make of it. Rheumy blames the Crohns and Orthro says he thinks it may be fibromylagia and put me on flexeral and pt and if that doesn't work (it doesn't) wants to send me to the pain management doc. I tell you my Crohns isn't too bad but I sure am tired of all this other crap.

I have been having tendinitis problems for a couple of years. Occasionally it is in my elbow but mostly it affects my fingers, hands and wrists. I also have achellies tendinitis and it has caused a large and painful bone spur on the back of my heel. I have seen a rheumy for it but so far nothing is being done to stop it. I am currently on 25mg of pred for the crohn's and I am having a tendinitis flare now so pred is not helping that. The next step may be Humira or Remicade for me, but not until I get some health insurance. I recommend seeing a rheumatologist and asking about spondyloarthritis.

I too have had bad tendonitis in my shoulder - I agree it certainly isn't very nice! Hopefully your pain will diminish soon,

Jodi we must be twins! I have had tendonitis for years, really bad for a couple of years in both elbows, shoulders, hips, hands, fingers. I was born with abnormal hip joints and sockets and need hip replacements. I am also super flexible - I am 51, overweight and can keep my legs straight and put both palms flat on the floor.

I have found cortisone and physio have been no help, Naproxen (an anti inflamatory) is helpful but I can't take it as it badly upsets my stomach.

For the last 8 months I have had bad back pain in my sacroiliac joint and have aching muscles in my buttocks and back of the thighs. This gets so bad I can hardly walk. I haven't had any surgery - has this helped with the pain at all?

I am also flaring at the moment, so nothing is working very well.

Geez, here it goes again.  Tendenitis is back in my elbows.  I just got the steriod shots in them ~3 weeks ago.  I've just started having this problem less than 6 months ago.  My GI doc says it is affiliated with my CD even though my CD is inactive according to my last colonoscopy.  I just don't get how that can be.  Has anyone developed this after being on Humira?  I've been on weekly injections for the past year until the last month now on the regular maintenance dose.

I have had a pain in my left shoulder and up that side of my neck. There are times I can move and will get a shooting pain up my neck to my skull. When that happens it stays sore for a couple daft. I don't know what tendinitis is so was wondering if it's something like that.

Shelco - this is a very old thread. I suggest you start a new topic and ask your questions plus tell us a little bit about yourself.

Tendonitis from overuse is normally treated with rest and NSAIDs. Tendonitis associated with spondyloarthropathy diseases [called enthesitis] is sometimes treated with cortisone injected near the tendon inflammation.
