Another pancreatis attack.

I guess the high triglyceride levels have triggered another attack. I was asked to go to the ER last night, but I was on my,
so I decided to tough it out. I'm feeling a little better but the distention is still there.

I know mp started all this off, but I'm almost sure that Humira is elevating my triglcerides, I wish I knew how to find out.

I always thought that crohns would be the death of me, but pancreatitis is so scary. Sorry to sound morbid, I guess I'm
hurting, and a little upset that drug therapy can sometimes hand you a rough ride... thanks for listening

Hi Teddy, they checked them last week, they were 1200. about 3 months ago they were only 280, but a year ago after 6mp
they went to 2000. I was in hospital twice for pancreatitis, I now have scaring, which is classified as chronic pancreatitis.

Broom, My first symptoms were epi gastric pain, actually it feels like your stomach is twisting itself in half, accompanied with
a lot of bloating, by the time I got to the hospital the pain had worsened and was going through to my back. I also felt like I
couldn't breathe properly. From that time on I was taken straight through, was given IV fluids and pain meds. I was also vomiting.
My treatment in the hospital was NPO IV pain control, oxygen and they also hooked me up to a heart monitor. The distention
can get so bad from inflammation, that other organs become at risk ie; your heart, kidneys etc;

All in all not a good experience, in fact I rate the pain worse than being obstructed. So please get your doc to keep an eye on
your pancreas, simply because of the meds you're on...

I've recently been prescribed pancreatic enzymes, they hopefully will help with the function. Other than that it really is
low fat diet and pain relief,and in my case keep a close eye on my triglyceride levels.

I know exactly what you are saying Broom. I've always eaten low fat, a habit I got into about 25 years ago. I know it can be a
family trait, but I would love to find out if some of our meds cause this increase, I did read one article on humira and increase
in triglcerides, but it was so technical, I had trouble under standing it all.

I still truly believe there's a connection...
