You know, I spent a whole day at home this weekend(my days off) in the house due to this. If I stand up, I have gas, if I move around it is there. Been to the toilet 10 times today with it. It just is endless! I am ready to stick a needle in my gut and hear a big whoosh to end this. My GI doesn't care about gas. To them this is no big deal, just a minor inconvinience. It hurts and it is not the most socially pleasing talent. eyes

I'm with you on that....had to go to a friend's mother's wake tonight and had chinese for lunch. Had the chinese prior to knowing about attending the wake. Couldn't make the funeral tomorrow...so I had to go tonight. Ugh...and would you believe the funeral home only had one small bathroom! Of course there was a nice waiting room just outside the bathroom complete with couch...so someone heard plenty of "music" from me tonight!

My gas is incredible lately. I have started Flagyl as my GI said it may help but it hasn't so far. Has anyone tried Flagyl for gas before?

As an aside, I can't get the search function to work. I searched for Flagyl and got 0 hits, which is obviously wrong.

When my Crohn's flares, my gas flares. I just say, excuse me I need to let it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL!!!

I've found that Humira is definitely something that has helped in that area . Thank goodness.

Well, maybe theres hope. I have considered both Flagyl and humira(not at the same time)

I have been there too... On Friday I was hoping no one came by my desk at work. I was tooting all day long... it was the kind that hurts if you try to hold it. in fact I have had gas all weekend... yuck. Karen

Well, I can certify that humira has not helped mine. I wish I could pinpoint it more, thought it was due to entocort but have been off that. I am still on 5 mg pred, maybe that? I also have a stricture which has been causing some irreg BR habits. I started reglan which has helped mine some, but I have days where I probably put 6 inches on my waist by nightfall. When I get up in AM, the distention has mostly gone.

For me, it's not tooting, it's belching.  If I'm laying down and I sit up, I belch.  If I'm sitting and I stand, I belch.  Every time I change position, I belch.  I have no control of it whatsoever.  Every once in a while I'll open my mouth to say something and... buuurp!  I'm an Office Manager, and I answer the phone all day long.  So far I've been lucky, but I'm waiting for the day when I'm on the phone with someone important and let one rip!

Humira isn't stopping my gas either. I toot away all day in the bathroom - maybe 10-15 visits a day. I've learned not to trust a fart so I endlessly make the trek to the ladies'. good luck - I hope you find something that helps - and if you do share it with us!! :)
