Hey everyone.

I haven't disappeared, i have been reading along just haven't posted in a while. Anyways. I saw my GI this morning and we're taking the plunge into treating the crohn's (finally... still can't figure out why he wanted to wait three months, it was horrid!)

He's put me on 3mg of Budesonide for three months, and Imuran 50mg. Has anyone had these, I did a search but couldn't find any posts on the side effects of either.

I'm on budesonide. I've done 6 weeks at 9mg and now I'm on 6mg for the next 6 weeks then 3mg for 3 months.
On such a low dose of budesonide you shouldn't have too many problems (if any!). I was going through a bunch of crazy side effects a few weeks back but it turns out it was my pentasa causing all the problems!

It's the same thing as Entocort. I've been on it since last October, and honestly I don't think it's done much. I was on Entocort and Pentasa for almost three months without any sort of improvement at all. It took Prednisone added to the Entocort and Pentasa to really help my CD symptoms.

Right now, I'm taking: bi-weekly humira, 9mg entocort, 100 mg Azasan (Imuran), 4 gm Pentasa, and 40 mg of prednisone. And thankfully, I'm in remission.

Anyway, Entocort is one of the very low tier CD drugs, so don't expect too much from it.
