Chronic pancreatitis.

As you may remember, I was diagnosed with CP, following 2 attacks of acute pancreatitis, after taking 6mp.

My problem is, that after going from web site, to web site to find out about this condition, I found one written by
a doctor and he gave the prognosis of only 50% of patients survive for 7 years following their Dx. I knew it was
a pretty tough disease, but wasn't really prepared to see those kind of figures. I know I'm doing all I can to reduce
the symptoms, but my own body is working against me, by producing high triglycerides, known to be detrimental
to the pancreas.

My other problem (whine) is that my family don't want to talk about it. Almost like if we ignore it, it'll go away, but
this is eating away at me. I know they all love me & they are scared, but I need to talk about the what if's. I'm scared
too.

I've already had to start taking greon ( pancreatic enzymes) to help rest my pancreas, but it seems, like it's daily now,
that the pain seems to be getting worse...

Hi, I'm feeling bewildered & scared. My husband was with me when the doc told me I had CP. I must admit I went to pieces
in his office, and all the doctor offered was a tissue, he didn't go into any detail about the disease. At that visit, he was more
concerned with getting my Humira started. He also gave me the enzymes, telling me, they might help with the pain.

My husband tells me we will live life to the fullest, and take everyday as it comes. I know that is what I should do, let tomorrow
take care of itself, but it keeps coming into my thoughts and dreams. I do try to make light of the situation by saying stuff like
"I can't die yet, I haven't learned to ski".... But I get angry too. Like if only I hadn't taken the medicine in the first place none of
this would've happened, but I guess no one can ever know these things, and I have to face facts it has helped so many people,
I guess I was one of the unlucky ones.

Maybe I do need counseling, I guess I'll ask my primary care. I trust her to do well by me....

Hi Vicky We"ve to have had these thoughts dealing with CD and knowing we take all the meds we take ,I feel it must be getting lonely for you do you have at least one person who will talk to you about this. I don't know much about it but keep talking to us about your needs and some help is always here. We all keep a bunch of things to ourselves at times and it seems to be part of dealing with health problems but some things are meant to be shared. Sending love and caring your way. lol gail

I would like to thank all of you for responding. As I thought you've all made me feel a little better. I will try and take
on board all you say. I'm sure it can't be all doom and gloom. I'm trying my hardest to stay upbeat. After all, I'm not
at deaths door yet, and darn it, if it has to be sooner than I would like, as long as this pain doesn't take to much control,
I'm going to try and make every day count

Strangely enough, I think this has given me a push in the right direction. As long as I'm able I'm gonna make the best
of what I have....Once again thanks guys, for being there LOL.
