Update on me!

So, looks like I'm going to be okay. I got a GOOD LONG lecture from my doctor today about reading online, apparently as he tells me, I have no business looking up stuff I can't understand. LOL Smart man! My blood tests aren't showing hereditary angioedema. Just very slightly low because my immune system is messed up and inflammed from the Crohn's flare. But no where near anything being serious. So that was wonderful news. He still feels my lip swelling and joint problems were from the flare, and it makes sense.

He seemed a little irritated that I went over his head to my Crohn's doc, but um yeah that's what I'm supposed to do in a flare! So I see my GI on Thursday to see how long he wants me on this lovely Pred. I'm doing pretty well on the pred, just the mood swings are bad. With all the fear of an extra serious health problem, I was not the person to be around this weekend. But I can deal with the regular mood swings (I guess!), just as long as I don't have anymore swelling!

So thanks again for all the prayers, looks like they worked! Yes, Crohn's flare sucks, but I couldn't handle having anything else seriously wrong with me! :)

Hopefully I won't get that too! My swelling was actually my foot, thumb, hand, and then my lip got HUGE. It was angioedema, just not the scary hereditary kind. Guess it's an odd presentation of Crohn's. But my sed rates were through the roof, and I was just flaming all over the place! I guesss that's what scared me so much, having such odd symptoms. I sure hope things get just better from here!

LOL Yeah I know, he chewed me out pretty good. My husband was happy about it though. LOL Guess I drive him nuts with my internet "trying to diagnose myself" stuff. LOL But you know when they take their time giving you info it's hard to just wait around and see. But I guess I need to start doing that, instead I just upset myself!

LOL Well I normally agree. I'm my own advocate after all. Since it took these doctors 10 years to properly diagnose me, I tend to be wary of what they say. But I think there is a line we can cross, if we don't know what were reading, or apply something to ourselves that isn't so. You can effectively scare the daylights out of yourself. I think that's what I did this time. But normally, yes, I read and plan to keep it up. Just have to remember that I don't have MD behind my name, and I don't know everything. Shucks. LOL
