Fear. still hoping this isn't Crohn's

I can't sleep, my brain wont shut off. All the things ive read about this are just so frightening. I dont have it as badly as a lot do, but does it always progress and get worse. I was told i had IBS 25 years ago,but a severe bout in January this year got doctors looking at me. Right now my stomach hurts, ive had a few days nasty D. my knees and elbows are hot and painfull. I have a low temperature of 97 degrees, spiking to 99.5. This is third episode since January, but symptoms have been there for a long time, just thought it was IBS. There is quite a lot that isn't in any book or on any website, except this one. Does anyone think this doesn't sound like crohn's. I get histology results on June 2nd.

Hi Judith peachypeach gave you some good advice. I too had been given a IBS DX, for 27 years till I got a large abdominal abs. and of course surgery for that. I am glad they found the crohn's but wish I had of had more scopes threw the years maybe they would of found it ealier. I too was a bit intiminated with the DX of CD but am in better health now .I had a resection in Jan. and been doing fairly good ,my CD was in the TI and cecum area with fistula's.I am having body pain but the BM's are mostly solid now and it is great to go to the bathroom and actually do something. You"ll learn to cope and take care of yourself and yes learning helps calm the fears. Best Wishes. lol gail
