Starting a flare or obstruction

Hi everybody,

Can you tell the difference between a flare starting or obstruction?

I had been symptom free for about a month. Now having a low grade fever and slight pain on the right side of my belly.

What is a obstuction? How do you feel if you have one?

What should I do if it's a obstruction?

Any advise appreciated.

You will know if you are having an obstruction. You will have severe crampy pain that comes in waves, much like labor pains. No air will move out of either direction. And within time you will start throwing up, sometimes stool. Very, very painful, believe me.

When a flare is starting I will experience more crampy pain and more D and some nausea. My flares usually start with feeling like I have the stomach flu, and if it doesn't get better within a week I know I am flaring and I head back to my GI. Hope that helps.

Hi As Nanners stated obstructions are painful and I also had no gas passing but sure wished I could. I also got got lots of gurgling going on. They don't seem to go away and I ended up in hospital both times. Hoping now I have had resection that won't happen again. My abdomen was also very destended and hard. My pains got worst at night . Hope you feel better soon. lol gail

If this the case. It's not obstruction nor a flare.

Wonder what cause this low grade fever for past 4 days all of the sudden.

Also having more gases and minor discomfort sometime at abdomen.

Should it be a concern?

Hi Not sure if you should be concerned but I am thinking with the cbs. I had it din't let up and I knew I had to have hospital care. You could have some inflam. or viral . Hope things get better soon. lol gail
