Some good news, I hope! The adult GI doctor that I called yesterday, called me again this morning. (well, the secretary, I suppose) She told she spoke with the nurse, told her what was going on, and the nurse agreed that they needed to get Summer in as soon as possible, and ARE willing to bend the rules. There are several docs in the group, and 2 of them have seen/used to treat children. I actually know one of them, who diagnosed my son as an infant with megacolon. The other one, is a member of the CCFA. Both are out this week, and it will take a couple of days to get a new referral from her ped doc, so I think we will be going in next week. Last night, and today, her symptoms seem to be "calming" down a little. She said her stool was normal - I said, normal for YOU, or normal for OTHERS? She said it was about the consistency of ice cream, or applesauce.... but no blood, or mucus. I am assume the prednisone is taking effect, evn though, "ice cream" isn't not normal for ME, lol. The doctors office also said, that she needs a stable doctor, who wouldn''t stop until something is found, and she can get the right diagnosis. How relieving is that?! Sounds like they care, although, I'm not getting my hopes up too much, b/c just because the nurse and receptionist care, doesn't mean the doc will be any better. But something is better than nothing, at this point, right? Thank ya'll (showing my true southern drawl now, ha) for helping my family, and showing TONS of support! It is so appreciated, ya'll will never know!! So thanks again, I'll update as soon as I hear anything. Tomorrow is the Meckel Scan..... so thanks again!!! I love you guys!!!!!!!! :)
