well, my appointment with my GI doctor is in a few days. And since i've actually felt worse after taking my first infusion of remicade, I'm wondering if he is gunna put me on Humira. I don't think I've had any sort of infusion reaction. The day of infusion was when i was still feeling well. Just after a day or so, nausea and fatigue kicked in. So my question is, does Humira have similar side effects, such as nausea, fatigue or muscle weakness? Just curious.

I just had to go off of Humira after 10mths due to drug induced Lupus,and I did get leg muscle weakness with it,but it is a good drug,and alot of people are able to tolerate it. If you do go on it,ice the area about 20 minutes prior to the injection,and bring the Humira to room temp,it feels much better that way.

Me too, I am on Humira, 3rd month and getting worse, so now I am on Prednisone to get it to calm down. However dont take our word for it, it may be the right thing for you. I was also on Remicade and had a very rare reaction to it, and that was the 3rd infusion. So now i am opting on Surgery. I had no side effects what so ever on Humira. NO nausea either. It is a different molecule so it could be better for you and way more convienent. Not to mention cheaper (I have coverage) . You do you own shots, I opted for the syringes, needles dont bother me. Good luck, let us know what ends up happening.

Been on Humira over a year, no side effects at all and it's worked fantasticly for me.

I built antibodies to the Remicade but until then, I didn't have any reactions to it. I also responded very quickly to the Remicade.

I am on humira and I have had no problems with it either and I have been on it for all most two years.

Aimee and curley, that is so great. This is my last resort, and I wished and prayed Humira worked. People I know that are on Remicade are doing well. Not fair, I havent been in remission other than maybe 2 weeks last month, but the flares always came back. Waiting for my GI to call and get my 3rd surgery done. :-(

I really have no significant side effects from Humira.  I do have fatigue for about 12 hours after the shot and I get a large red itchy bump at the injection site, but that is about it.  I take the shot at night on a day when I can sleep in a bit the next day and that takes care of the fatigue.
