I know we had this tread before that we all have awful teeth...why???  I just came back and need 3 root canals just when I am flaring and suppose to start 6mp.  Has anyone found anything that helps prevent the decay??  Has anyone had root canals on 6mp?? 

My biggest fear is that one will get infected and I will need antibiotics since my c.diff I don't ever want to see another antibiotic!!

Let me know Crohnie veterans what has worked for you to keep those teeth from decaying further!!

My dentist stepped up my cleanings from every 6 months to every 3 months. No decay for me (knock on wood) but I tend to get gum inflammation.
I avoid any harsh toothpastes and mouthwashes (my dentist has continually said steer clear of any "whitening" toothpastes, as those are more harsh and drying to the gums and will irritate them.

Sorry...no help here! I already wear an upper denture @ 47 and I am trying to wait out a years period since having my last prednisone. Hopefully, in February I can get an impacted wisdom tooth extracted. Oral surgeon has wanted it for some time now but I refuse until the pred year is up and I've been on Boniva for at least nine months. Sounds like the additional cleanings would be a good idea and you may want to consider a zinc supplement.

my pops tells me, I am responsible for giving you bad teeth, you are responsible for dealing with it! he means to tease me, but when it comes to my dental health, all i can say is, Life Sucks!

what's worse is I have problems now that I can't fix since I can't afford the extra costs....even with moderately good dental coverage, crowns and root canals aren't cheap!
