Lialda for Crohn's?

My new doctor is having me try a drug called Lialda for eight days. He says its basically the same as the drug I'm on now, Pentasa, but I would only have to take it once a day. Anyone here taking Lialda for Crohn's? I recognized the drug from ads for it I've seen on this web site, but the web site for the drug only mentioned its use for ulcerative colitis.

I am currently taking Lialda for Chrons - subsituted it for Asacol for the same reasons - only have to take it once a day
I havent noticed any differenes in my symptoms since switching so i have to assume the drug is working the same as the ascaol is.

Yeah, I am hoping I won't notice any difference switching from Pentasa to Lialda, as I've been pretty good this year. Only having to take it once in the morning instead of four times a day would be nice.

I've been on Lialda since it came out. I take it in addition to Humira because my CD is in the rectum. It's pretty much the same thing as asacol, they just made it bigger and once a day. It worked well for me until I got worse and needed to add the humira. You probably wont even notice the switch.

I switched from pentasa to Lialda b/c i had a reaction to the pentasa. It seems to be working for me. But i also take it with remicade. But so far no problems. Good Luck!

I'm also taking Lialda instead of asacol.  I'm doing much better since I started this drug a year ago since I keep missing doses with the asacol.  With the asacol I just couldn't remember to take the drug 3 times a day.  I don't miss many doses with Lialda since it's only once a day.

I asked my doctor about Lialda and he said that it releases in a different area than Pentasa. I forget which releases where, but he said I need to keep on Pentasa. Lucky you guys for taking less medicine. I'm jealous
