Hello Everyone-

Well, I talked to my gastro today because I've been having a flare up which goes from constipation to bad poop! Anyways, I asked her about the serology 7 again which I took about 2 years ago which I guess came back positive for Crohn's. Now she said that the serology 7 is only about 85% accurate and it seeming that I have more symptoms of colitis. When I did my colonscopy a few years ago my gastro at the time said there was some inflammation on the left side of the colon and a little by the rectum and she thought it was mild colitis.

So what do I believe...I suppose it doesn't really matter because she has me on Asacol which has been helping for the most part. I just don't know what to tell doctors when they ask.

So you likely have crohn's colitis as I do, which is basically crohn's affecting your colon...and yes, the same meds used to treat ulcerative colitis are used to treat crohn's colitis as well.

I've had CD affect my small intestine, colon, rectom and anus all at the same time for a period of about 2 yrs when I first became sick with crohn's...that's the thing with having CD as opposed to UC is that it can affect your entire GI tract from mouth to anus whereas UC is limited to the colon and rectom.
