It's been about
a year and a half since my daughter was diagnosed with Crohn's in her TI. She has done very well during that time, has grown alot, and hasn't complained of any pain at all.
The only ongoing symptoms have been that she's very tired, and her last blood test showed that her iron stores were down, she was put back on an iron supplement, (about 3 months ago)
This last week or so, she has been severely constipated. Didn't have a bowel movement for about 6 days.
The nurse advised taking a Senekot. After one day, she did have a BM, but it's been another 4 days since that.
She has some pain around her naval that comes and goes, but still has a healthy appetite.
We're a bit worried that there is some disease activity again. Could anyone comment on her status at all? I appreciate any input.
Is there something diet wise that might help if it's just a case of constipation? When I was young we used to get Prune juice, not sure if that would be advised.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
