Statistics of Crohn's & Sex?

Has anyone ever seen any statistics involving whether Crohn's affects women moreso than men?   I know there are men and women on this board but I wonder if there has been any studies or statistics put out there on whether or not Crohn's affects women more than men or visa versa.

I don't know of any specific studies, but I do believe more women suffer with it than men. JMHO

I have read that unlike many autoimmune diseases, it is pretty even between the genders.

well i can testify that CD in men makes at least one woman not want sex.. :0)

LOL Randy,
in my case it slowed things down. she didn't want to make things hurt more then they already did. but, as far as i was concerned things had to be really bad before it effected me in that way.

that would be interesting to know... I think there are so many reasons CD can have an effect... it seems to cause problems everywhere. Karen

Okay this is jsut my opinion....

Men, NEED that release unlike women. It is more emotioanl for us. I know my hubby can only go so long without it. I'm fine without it. If I don't feel good don't touch me. I do try to be there for him though.

Hope that made sense. LOL!

Shelley - I completely disagree with you. I am a woman and I need a release often too. Cuddling doesn't cut it for me!

Randynoguts- I checked out your website, you are hysterical! I especially like your mobile toilet. Does TPN mean you don't eat at all? Can you drink fluids?


I think a better title would have been Statistics of Crohn's and Gender. Mention sex and we seem to go in a different direction

uh gail, just look at my pictures!

dagger, no i can eat, i just done get much nutrition out of it. i eat from wake up to bed time and still have been losing 3 lbs a week this past summer. they are changing my TPN formula this week adding more calories at first.

I'am not married so my vote's out here but I would think that some people do have issues to deal with and for women it's more of a internal thing I guess that's why the women probably wander about such things. lol gail

Did someone say the ,S, word ? I dont know about statistics but I would think, if you ask, women would say that men are more likely to be full of crap ,,and men would say that women think they know all sorts of crap. When it comes to the other , s , word I thinks its 50/50. Trouble is that 50 % are not in the mood when the other 50% are. I also know that Randy must be a hunk a hunk of burning love. That because he has fever most of the time...Blow in his pic line, he'll follow you anywhere...

In my house it is split 50/50....I am all for it and hubby is all against it. I have been hav ing alot of issues with joint and muscle pain the last 3 months and I finally broke down and let it all out to him and he said he is afraid to touch me because he doesn't want it to hurt me more. I told him to bring it on because i need to know he still wants me!! It is so emotional at times because I feel from my weight gain that he will never look at me the same and it rips me apart emotionaly and I know that is not good for the pain I am in.

I know when I hurt and don't feel well, I don't want my husband near me!! He always gets upset and I know he doesn't understand even though he says he does. I hurt and don't feel good ALOT so you can imagine how our sex life is. If you ask my hubby, he would probably say "What is sex?" LOL
