I can't find the answer on Google.
I found some lurking in the back of the pantry and I'm hoping the answer will be "yes". It'd be so nice to be able to try something new for a change!
Thanks,
I.

I think it's corn meal.

it is wonderful mushed, cooked cornmeal. I am not sure how well it would be tolerated, but it is worth a try!

Thanks, yp. I'll give it a try, then!

I have Ulcerative Proctitis and I LOVE polenta; I'm on a flare right now but I was wondering what your results have been eating corn meal during a flare. Thanks!

lol
It's funny somebody found this thread because I've been wondering about
polenta for myself.
I used to LOVE cream of wheat porridge, but I try to stay away from wheat products (especially when flaring badly), so I recently got cream of rice porridge. It tastes the same and is awesome!!!
I'd like to try polenta, but I'm afraid since it's a corn product and I tend to get obstructions.
I wonder if the corn in it would cause intestinal impacting?

It's ground up pretty finely.
I suppose you *could* try a tiny bit and see what happens. That's what the dietitian suggested I do.
I used it in baking - I have a few nice recipes that use polenta in combination with regular flour for a nuttier flavour.

I love polenta, too. In a frying pan add mushrooms, tofu and green onions. Tastes great and doesn't irritate.
