Mucous or oilly discharge "leaking" out at night

Has anyone else experienced this & if so was there anything (like certain meds) that helped?

I have Crohn's, have had resection, fistulas, hospitalizations with complete blockages, etc.  I am on remicade, cipro, prevalite, 6-MP.

Actually right now things are going pretty well except for one thing - I get an oilly or mucous? discharge almost every night while I sleep.  I say "discharge" because it is not a bowel movement; I have no urge to go & don't even know it is happening until it is too late.  it only happens while I sleep.

Anyone else have this issue?

I don't, but I do at times lose bowel continance in my sleep. I always wear a menstrual pad to bed. I am so mortified when I ahve "pottied" in my bed. Now it doesn't matter if I do. I am protected. BTW, I buy the longest bladder control pads I can find, just to make sure.

Landmoor: Have you tried the antibiotic Xifaxan? I had the same problem after a fistula surgery last year, and once I started the Xifaxan it completely went away.

i get all kinds of leakage drainage coming out, not just at night, but all day

I had BM's in sleep when I had my blockage. Not oily though. Have you talked to your DR. about it ? lol gail

Is there any chance it could be another fistula?

I'm with Glad Bag, I have all sorts of drainage...I wear a pad almost all the time.
