Just something we, or at least I, tend to forget: One little pill, really can do damage, or kill us.
I have had a sinus infection for 4 or 5 weeks, nothing is getting rid of it. Finally my doctor prescribed leviquin. I took one last night. Within in an hour, I was having trouble breathing. 3 - 4 hours and I was throwing. Took Benedryl and it helped. This morning, I still wasn't 100%, but was actually considering taking another dose! Instead, I called the doctor, got another antibiotic, took that one. Same reaction, only so far no throwing, Thank GOD.
While my sinus' feel better than they have in weeks, so I know that first dose is doing its job, its also doing something much more sinister. One little pill, now two, are working their devilish magic on my system and each time I take a different antibiotic, the reaction gets worse. It just amazes me that ONE little pill can do so much harm to the human body.
As a professional patient, I get cavalier about the number of medications and types of drugs I have to put into my body to function. Then something like this happens and makes me realize all over again that they aren't tic tacs. I will still take each and every drug I have to, but I am grateful for the reminder.
