6-mp question

As you all know Sierra just had surgery. When discharged the surgeon's orders were to resume all meds except 6-mp and pentasa until I speak with her specialists. I called their office today, spoke with a nurse she called back....you all know how it goes. Anyway, the nurse calls back and says the specialist says I need to talk to the surgeon and they don't have the reports from the hospital yet. I repeat myself that the surgeon said I needed to discuss this with them. She has to call me back again. End result is to resume 6-mp and hold off on pentasa. My question is for those of you who have had surgeries do you resume meds immediately? My biggest concern is that she had blood transfusions on Sunday and when she left the hospital her levels were only up to 8.2. 6-mp breaks down white blood cells right? So it is ok for her to take? Do I resume or hold off until she has her follow ups? She sees the surgeon Monday and the specialist on Wednesday. Maybe I'm just paranoid now.

Hi lil momma If it were me I'd go the surgeon's orders until her app. because the specialist might not know about her problems she had after surgery. How is she doing bowel wise now ? lol gail

I'm with Nanners, I think some maintenance meds are for life. But a fews days missed here and there are fine. I would wait until you have confirmation from the doctors as to what they want her to be on, just to be on the safe side.
