Laid off after 18 years at work with Crohn's

Does anybody have any tips for dealing with Crohn's, among many other conditions a smashed hand and no job? I really need a boost.

Pretty tough spot here. My Crohn's has been so active and the Dr's don't seem to care. Bright red blood. I cannot take most medications and honestly I can hardly make it to work I was on the brink. I have not been able to get in to Dr's and my health insurance will run out.

I am currently taking I think 30 MG of Prednizone. Its working on the Asthma, Fibro, but not so much on the Crohn's/Colitis.

Bright side - Yes there is my hope is that a few days off could make me feel a little better. I am not being brutally harrassed at work any longer.

They lost a really good employee!!!! I don't have to have my bosses publicly announce my FMLA and have co-workers give me all of the really bad work, ignore me, tell everybody lets get rid of her. It is a very complicated situation. It has been going south for 4 years now. I don't need co-workers making things up about me.

But, I need a job and need to make decisions fast so if anybody can provide their experiences I would really appreaciate it. Thanks - More good news is that I can be on the forum more often and offer my support. (I am trying but a little panicked)

Duty the next day I went to vote for my country and when I arrived at work my life
changed.

This is a tough spot to be in. I woke up to a bad flare day. It is raining w/big snow storm coming
. I have decided to get up everyday anyways and today I will look at financial situation.

Still need savy tips for saving money and to get advice on what others do. I finally have my
Dr's appointment next week.

Been there at a job. I just got laid off in large part due to CD. My boss (Captain Di@#wad) told everyone about my CD and told me to "fix it". Go online and file for unemployment. If you can afford it (remember that in the US it's a tax write off when you hit a percentage of your earnings) get COBRA so that you do not fall into the pre-existing category in the event of a hospital stay, etc.

It took me two months and 10 days to find another job, but I found one. My new boss is really great and very positive about my CD. There ARE good people out there. You and I just happened to have S*@t bosses. :)

I am sincerely sorry that you lost your job, and I agree with Randy, get unemployment or an attorney and proceed so you can protect yourself. I hope your doc can figure out how to stop the bleeding; prednisone did it for me, but everyone is different and I know it can take a long time to get it under control. Keep posting here and let us know how you're doing.
