B12 testing, take my dose before or wait?

I'm going to get my blood drawn for a B12 level check, but I'm due for my shot 2 days before.  Would you take the dose or wait?

My doctor has always said not to get my shot until after the blood test.  If you get the shot beforehand, your levels will elevated because you just had gotten the test.  Hope that helps.
