Tylenol or Advil?

I know that with Crohn's, I should avoid a particular type of pain reliever, but I can't recall which kind. Which is better to take, Advil or Tylenol? Thanks.

Tylenol is better to take. Advil can cause GI bleeds.

stay away from ibuprofen derivatives as it disrupts and irritates the GI tract in us crohnies.

Also, keep a close eye on the way the Tylenol effects your belly too... My doctor has had me go off of all NSAIDS (non-steroidal-anti-inflamatory-drugs) and I must say that I do see an improvement in my GI symptoms. I do realize though, that going "cold turkey" isn't always possible... But between the two - Tylenol has always been WAY easier on my tummy than anything like Advil (or naproxen (alieve), or ibuprofen).

Tylenol is not an anti-inflamitory so if you need help with inflamation tylenol won't help. But it is also less likely to cause bleeding. Tylenol can be very liver toxic so watch the dose.

Advil is an NSAID unfortunately, so it's a no no. Only Tylenol. Which is hard since it doesn't do much compared to NSAIDS.
