I've been having some joint problems lately, and had my first appointment with a rheumatologist today. She doesn't know yet if its crohn's arthritis or RA, but she prescribed me methotrexate on top of my humira to help with the joints.
I'm supposed to take the mtx once a week and was wondering if it matters what day I take it on? I just started the humira but have been taking that on Friday. I guess I was thinking that it is probably better to take the mtx on a different day since they both weaken the immune system and I don't want it to get too weak? or would it not make any difference?
I'm going to be taking 10mg of mtx. She indicated that it was a fairly low dose but I was wondering if anyone knows what a "normal" dose is?

they told me they were going to schedule my injections together.
I took 25 mg for well over a year, tapered to 20mg, and trying to get down to 15 mg

They told me that it didn't matter if you injected both on the same day.
That said, I inject Humira on Thursday and do the mtx on Friday. They can both make me feel quite rotten, so I try to do each one on a separate day so I can lessen the effect of the "double whammy". Like you, I try to inject at the end of the week so I can rest through the worst of the side effects over the weekend. I don't think it will matter too much when you inject - just factor in a lot of down time, and try to take your meds before the days when you regularly have least happening.
All the best,
Ivy.

thanks for the info, I guess it doesn't matter. I just tend to over think things when I get nervous. :)
