had my colonoscopy today

Had my colonoscopy today, not as bad as i thought. the prep was ot even as bad as i thought, it was nasty but sihnce i have dirrhea all the time...not too bad. I even opted to have only pain medication so i could watch it. During my colonoscopy the doctor took some biospys and said i have to come back next wednesday so he could discuss the results. There was no inflammation in the colon so what are the biospys for. He took a few different ones. it did not hurt but you could see it bleed a bit. Anyone know.

Lawgirl, many GI's take biopsies to send to the lab to make sure everything is "ok." Sometimes things can be picked up by biopsy that cannot be seen with a scope. Blessings, Julie

From my colonoscopy last week, the physician says there are many polyps in rectal area that may have formed due to healing (quiescent phase). He says they must be removed immediately and the disease has taken more of UC form than CD.

Biopsy has come negative.
