hi mike. It's great that you are looking into probiotics - they have really helped my husband. If you search this site for probioics you will find many threads that debate the issue of which ones to take. There are many very well educated people on this site that know a lot about this topic. I'd recommend you look for other threads because there is a lot of info out there!

My recommendation is to try a few and see what makes you feel better. Once you find one that works - stick with it and don't get too carried away looking at the millions of options. Primadophilis bifidus and primadophilis rueteri by natures way (not totally sure I spelled those right, but close enough) have made a huge difference for my husband.

i have tried many probiotics. the ones that have worked the best for me BY FAR have been the ones made by the hippocrates institute.

Hi Mike,

I've been using Primadophilus Rueteri made by natures way, it comes in powder or caps (caps are easiest to use) and I've found them very helpful, only one/day is needed and they're affordable, in Canada I pay 29.00 for 90 which lasts me 90 days because only one/day is needed...it also aids with lactose intolerance (which I had severe issues with) and high cholesterol.

It's important to take them daily (any probiotic) and indefinitely even during remission and whenever on antibiotics, always take your probitotics at least 2 hours after you're done taking your antibiotics for the day or the antis will kill off the probiotics.
