Does anyone have crohn's disease and also bipolar disorder?????

Been having alot of problems here lately. I can't control my moods. I go from being sad and crying very low to then happy and have energy sometimes then go to being anger just can't control my mood swings. Also how do you bring this up to a doctor that might be bipolar?Hopefully someone on here help me out with this. Thanks Miranda



meds on take 6 pentasa pills a day and then thyroid pill and then acid pill and iron and vitamin

mirandaddawn, I have bipolar and crohns. I think you need to see a therapist and they can help you deal with all of it. It hit me really hard when I found out I had crohns, not really because of the crohns but it took so long and after awhile I had one doctor tell me it was in my head and to see a therapist. It was a little later that I found out for sure it was crohns. Needless to say hes not my doctor anymore. You like I might have to get on something to help with your mood swings, and depression. I've found out coming here on line when I need to get something out of my head or need to know I'm not lone, helps so much. You can also go on the forum for bipolar disorder, they really understand. If you have nothing to say or you have questions sometimes just reading what others have to say can help.

I do...had crohns for almost 30 years BP diagnosed for one year.
Seek help, I was put on a low dose of Lamictal and my family see
a big change.

Hey Ne Ne! Mirandadawn, I am experiencing the same things as you, Ne Ne gave me great advice too as I had posted a thread the other day. You aren't alone, everyone here is great and listens. I hope you feel better and I am going to see a therapist, I hope you get it all figured out! I know it can be absolutely miserable to feel like that... good luck !

getting evaluated is key, but also to have a therapist that knows chronic disease has highs and lows is important too. I do want to encourage everyone to find a therapist that makes you feel comfortable. It make take more then a few, but you can do it.

Thanks for all the support. Been trying get into a therapist but seem like going take forever they said maybe two weeks or a month. Also hoping I like the person and am comfortable with them . Because seem like if I wasn't take me months and months get into other ones. Also how do you know if a therapist knows alot about crohn's disease?I have alot of health problems so am hoping when I tell therapist don't freak out or something. They told me tell my doctor going see one kind of worried about what he will say about it cuz my new doctor doesn't know alot about my health and stuff... wbs Miranda

Miranda, I see a therapist and she really don't know that much about crohns, I don't worry that much though, Its not all just about the crohns. You have to add everything together, so she helps me a lot. And she has looked up and resurrected crohns, but as she put it WERE NOT CROHNS were people that have to learn to deal with a disease. And it took me a few to get in to see her, but it was worth the wait.
