Pain in the upper right quadrant??

This a new pain to me, but it's steadily getting worse as the days goes on. It's radiating through to my back also!!

I'm so used to my pain being in the lower quadrant, so this very different for me. Oh, it also shoots across the middle at times....

Any ideas, anyone!!

That is almost the textbook description of gall bladder pain. Does it come on after meals, especially fattyfoods? If it's focused right under the ribs to the right of centerline, that is exactly where the gall bladder lies. A couple of simple tests can verify this. I would say if it continues or ifit recurs, especially if accompanied by nausea or vomiting, you ought to get to the GI and have those tests ASAP, as gallbladder disease can transform from an uncomfortable annoyance toa sudden acute crisis if you get a stone in the bile ducts or a full blown infection.

My husband had a listen and could hear nothing!! Oh Lord, I don't need this right now....

I was thinking about you yesterday when I was feeling grotty myself.!!! Take it easy and I hope this new pain subsides. I had ultra sound done on my GB and it showed gravel, or sludge, GB problems were the start of this crazy roller coaster ride for me just over 4 years ago. It was removed during one of my operations.

Vicky, I hope this post finds you feeling better. I experienced the same pain a couple of years ago. I was diagnosed with Pancreatitis. This can be diagnosed with a simple blood test. (Amylase and Lipase.) To this day, sometimes I experience pain/tenderness in that area, but all tests come back fine. Good luck to you. Blessings, Julie
