hello again from your friendly neighborhood pain in the rump!

 

yesterday my pcp told me not to take percocet for pain anymore and has now added levsin to my army of meds.  i am still having pain in my upper abdomen and right side and he thinks this is caused from spasms.

 

has anyone found any substantial relief from this med or other antispasmodics?

 

i was also informed i am depressed and he is trying to get me to take wellbutrin.  after my zoloft experience, i declined :P

Well of all the antispasmotics I have used, the Levsin worked pretty well for me. I also have Bentyl and Donnatal on hand too, but the Levsin works best painwise for me. The Donnatal is a similar type antispasmotic, but I like to use that one when I am having spasms and some anxiety. It has another type of med in it that works for those anxious times. Hope that helps.

I agree with Nanners...It helps me ALOT.  Even for the times I feel anxiety.  I take one before every meal and at bedtime.  I use the kind that melt under your tongue.  I seem to like those better.  Good luck and hope you have success with it!

Levsin has helped me. Aside from the pills (both regular and sublingual), there is an injectable form too which is very useful when you have an obstruction and are in horrible pain. Actually, I have gotten through several bad episodes of obstruction with nothing but this drug (injected myself, sub-cutaneous rather than IV) and thus avoided some trips to the emergency room.

I take Levsin on occasion when I am having troubles. It definitely is a BIG help. Also, I am taking Wellbutrin. I have taken Lexapro and Celexa and had a BAD experience with them. If I didn't take them at the same time every day, I would have MAJOR dizziness and feel like I was having a terrible out of body experience. I have not had any of these experiences with Wellbutrin. It is most definitely worth a shot.
