My Dad just came home from the hospital yesterday. He is 84 years old and had his first colonoscopy ever and as he said, he was scoped and X-rayed from every angle. They found an ulcer in his intestine which they say caused all the bleeding. He was given 6 pints of blood over the couse of his stay and his hemoglobin is up to 117 after being down to 67. They figure is was a result of all the medication he has been on. Lifetime med for asthma, aspirin type med for last year, arthritis med and last month was given antibiotics for pnuemonia. So he is weak but on the mend and this sounds pretty minor compared to what it could have been.
Thank you everyone for your concern.
My next colonoscopy is scheduled for Jan 6th.
