fibromyalgia and crohn's

Hi and Happy Holidays to everyone! As most of us have, I have been dealing with Crohn's are the related arthritis for about ten years now, the arthritis has gotten very bad lately, but recently things have really taken a turn for the worse. My rheumy today, diagnosed my with Fibromyalgia, on top of it all. He says the overall achiness and feeling like I have a flu, fatigue, and the "hot spots" that I can't bear to touch are the signs. Now, he wants to start me on more medicine for that, ugh. I was wondering if anyone here is also dealing with fibro and what meds they may have found helpful because the list he gave me was overwhelming and I don't even know which to consider first. Already being on so many meds for the Crohn's I hate to add more, but this newest problem is really starting to ruin my daily life even more than the crohn's. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi Marla,

I am one of the folks who has Crohns, Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis.  The only med I use for the Fibro is my pain medicine.   That is the only thing that helps me.  My Rheumy wants me to take one of the biologics, but I am just not ready to go there right now.  The pain meds and muscle relaxers seem to work well enough.  But at least I know those meds are there if I ever feel thats the way I have to go.  Hope that helps.
