Vaginal Fistula?

UGH...I was taking a shower the other morning before work and I found a very large bump right on the inside of my vagina on the side of the opening. I dont know how to explain how big it is, but it is much bigger then a quater.  It doesnt hurt, but it is hard and if I press on it I can feel something in my rectum. I have no idea what the heck this is.  I have no medical insurance.  I have an appointment with my surgeon on Monday (he waves all charges for me, thank god) Im wondering if he might be able to take a look at it, or if its something a gyno would need to see. How do fisulas start and what do they look like? Im so sick of this, I literally broke down in tears in the shower, Im scared to death.  My mom told me to just relax and that it might just be a cyst.  It virtually happened over night.  Any ideas?

don't assume worst case scenario! i usually get freaked out by issues down there too, but more often than not, they are not a big deal. it's a good sign it doesn't hurt. i've gotten similar bumps (though no feeling in rectum associated with it) in that area and they are usually little pimples/cysts that go down on their own. glad you're getting it checked out--let us know how it goes! good luck!

Its not draining no discharge or anything like that.  And I cant tell if its warm because everything tends to be warm down there, haha.

I am not sure about the bartholin gland...   I had problems with mine (actually ended up having one removed) and if you are having a problem with it, you would know...   It was the most painful thing I have been through....     

Who knows, I could be wrong...   I am just saying with mine...   it HUUUURT

I have had a fistula that tunneled into the bartholyn gland. My gyn. mistook it for a bartholyn cyst and first. But it was definitely a fistula. I just had another fistula break through there in Oct...but my fistulas are always painful, so I'm thinking you might just have a cyst....lets hope so!!!
