How long does it take...

for Humira and/or Imuran to leave the body once you stop taking it?

I'm up for the dental surgery soon and I thought I'd ask the dentist my all time favorite question....how long to heal after surgery too.

I haven't stopped any of my meds before so I'm kinda freaked out waiting for the flare to hit compliments of no meds and antibiotics.  I'm also raising the anti for recovery by increasing the probiotics too....which in turn makes a wonderful gas factory of and in itself.

Thanks for all responses cause if I don't get snowed in tomorrow I go for the dental consult to figure out what to do with what is left of the good teeth.

 

Imuran metabolizes in the body to 6MP. The half-life of the metabolized 6MP is 3 hours [longer when one has renal disease]. So the last dose of Imuran you took would be out of your body in 24 hours or less. HOWEVER, the effect of the Imuran on the body like lowering of white count, pancreas effect, anemia, hair loss, etc, is going to be longer. I know when my white count fell too low on Imuran, it took about 10 days for it to get back to normal. I hope this helps.
