I couldn't get the link to work so I googled "iPill Crohn's". So it is a medicine delivery system. Interesting!

But yes, it is pretty amazing :) I'm excited to see what they will ultimately accomplish with it.

It is an interesting idea, as far as delivering medication to target specific areas. I'm not aware of any Crohn's meds that would benefit from being delivered to a specific area though.

Just off the top of my head. It would be a revolutionary advancement if budesonide could be released at the particular inflamed areas, not just the ilium/descending colon. Of course it's probably at least 10+ years for this pill to be commonly used and hopefully we'd have better options by then.

Medicine being delivered specifically to the ileum would help a lot of people...or just particular areas that are shown to be especially inflamed/bleeding in colonoscopy results. And to be able to target specific areas with a lot of scar tissue(I'm thinking ahead with treatment combos here..) that would be a wonderful alternative to surgery and preventing obstructions.
